Ecuador Revenue and Telegraph Stamps : The very attractive fiscal stamp of the Ferrocarril de Puerto Bolivar was the subject of several printings, identifiable by small shade differences. Specimen stamps were produced with each printing, each Specimen overprint being slightly different. Offered below are both Specimen Fiscals and the national Telegraph overprints applied to these railway revenues. The Specimens always have a small punch hole in addition to the overprint. The TELEGRAPH OVERPRINTS: These exist in Black or in Red, reading up or reading down, and the length of the overprint is either about 26 mms or between 31 and 32 mms. . Peru Peru 1871 5c 'Trencito' very fresh m/m, very close top margin, just touching in places. These stamps usually have good side margins but rarely have both the top and bottom margins well clear, because of the way they were printed. Lovely colour and very fresh gum, scarce thus. £74.00 Scan Ref: NC4-Peru.
. Ruanda-Urundi SG 13 overprinted 'URUNDI'. The overprint is not very clear and appears nearest to the colour of the Havre overprint but I do not believe any of these were sent to the colony or would normally appear used. It is therefore probably a Tombeur overprint, made in the colony. Used examples of any of these provisional handstamped stamps are highly elusive. £ 75.00 Scan Ref: NC4-RU2.
